Effective 31 October 2025, Microsoft Excel will be removed from all EasyPay Online Machines. This change is due to the discontinuation of free Excel licensing. Customers who wish to continue using Microsoft Excel on their EasyPay Online Machines may do so at their own discretion, with an additional monthly subscription cost of USD 14 per user.
Impact
Microsoft Excel is currently utilized by EasyPay for several key functions, including:
Importing features within the Core Module.
Import Manager.
Bank file generation in Excel format.
Government file generation in Excel format.
Various reports exported in Excel format.
Solution
To ensure business continuity and avoid additional costs to customers, EasyPay will replace the use of the Excel DLL with a third-party library, LibXL, which provides similar import and export capabilities. This enhancement will be delivered in the upcoming Product Update (PU) scheduled for release by the end of October 2025.
Note: On-premises customers who have their own licensed version of Microsoft Excel installed will not be impacted by this change.
Limitations of LibXL
While LibXL will support importing and exporting Excel files, there are certain limitations compared to the current Excel functionality:
No Editing Interface
LibXL does not provide a user interface (UI).
Users will not be able to open, view, or edit files before import.
No Password Protection or Locked Headers
Header locking in import templates will no longer be available.
Password-protected Excel files will not be supported.
The password entry option in the Import Designer will be removed.
Summary
The implementation of LibXL will provide a sustainable, cost-effective solution while maintaining the core functionality of EasyPay’s Excel-based operations. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement this important enhancement.
