Income Tax Processing Singapore: IR8S Approval Indicator must not be blank

Error: Employee SXXXX123I is not successfully processed. Approval indicator must not be blank if Singapore Permanent Resident Status is approved on or after 01.01.2021

Please do as follows to resolve this error message:

  1. Go to the Income Tax module, Review, View Tax Record.

  2. Double-click the employee's IR8S.

  3. Under the "Has approval given by CPF Board to make full contribution", select Approval No

  4. Select as per the following conditions.

    • Approval No: If the employee is contributing normal graduated PR rates.

    • Approval Yes: If the employee has specifically applied from CPF to make a full contribution (not following graduated rates)

  5. Click Save and resubmit the IR8S again.
