Core: Change a department, category, salary grade, leave group or section in the Core module

Bulk update department, salary grade, leave group, category, and section.

You can update a department/ category or section for your employee either by a single employee update or in bulk.

You can use the Global Change or Career Progression in Access EasyPay to perform a bulk update of your employee profile data, such as Section, Category, Department, Salary Grade, Leave Group, and Branch. Using Career Progression, the system allows you to define an effective date of the change, and hence, this will create an audit or a history record for the past data value.

Whereas using Global Change, the system will overwrite the existing value without keeping the past data value (you may use global change if you do not need to keep the past data, e.g., overwriting a mistake in a data entry).

Please follow the steps below to do this:

Bulk update in the career progression

  1. Go to the Core module, click Employment Details, and select Career.

  2. Click the Assign Employee tab.

  3. Key in an effective date and select the Career Code as Transfer.

  4. Key in the new value for the Department/ Category or Section and move the employee over to the right.

  5. Click Confirm.

Bulk update in the Global Change

  1. In the Core module, click Setup.

  2. Select Global Change.

  3. Click Salary Grade and select the Salary Grade value.

  4. Click Next and move the employees over.

  5. Click Confirm.

Single update

  1. Go to the Core module, click Employment Details.

  2. Search for the employee and click Career.

  3. Click New and enter an Effective Date.

  4. Select Career Code, update Department, Category, or the Section New Value, and click Save.

  5. Ensure the record is marked as current.
