Payroll Singapore: Additional wage for new Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) is not prorated

New SPR's additional wage for the Central Provident Fund (CPF) is not prorated.

Updated over a month ago

This is a known issue in Access EasyPay version 2024.02. Our development team is working on a solution that will be included in a future release.

Workaround for now, the user needs to monitor new hires who got SPR, and the additional wage CPF will need to be prorated manually for the first month, as follows:

To calculate the prorated additional wage for a new Singapore PR, please check the employee's date of Issue of his/ her Permanent Residence (PR) and prorate by the working days of the month.

  • Example:

Date of Issue: 10/3/2025

Employee's CPF wage: 5000

Prorated additional wage: 16/21 X 5000

Employee Additional Wage CPF contribution: 3809 X 20% (depending on the employee's age contribution rate)

Employee Additional Wage CPF contribution: 3809 X 17% (depending on the employee's age contribution rate)

Enter the prorated additional wage as follows into the system:

  1. Go to the Payroll module.

  2. Double-click the employee's Pay Record.

  3. Enter both the Employee Additional CPF and Employer Additional CPF.

  4. Save and Recalculate.

  5. When the system asks, 'Do you want to overwrite CPF...', click No.
