Core: Change a department, category, or section in the Core module

Update department, category, and section. Bulk update department, category, and section.

You can update a department/ category or section for your employee either by a single employee update or in bulk. Please follow the steps below to do this:

Bulk update

  1. Go to the Core module, click Employment Details, and select Career.

  2. Click the Assign Employee tab.

  3. Key in an effective date and select the Career Code as Transfer.

  4. Key in the new value for the Department/ Category or Section and move the employee over to the right.

  5. Click Confirm.

Single update

  1. Go to the Core module, click Employment Details.

  2. Search for the employee and click Career.

  3. Click New and enter an Effective Date.

  4. Select Career Code, update Department, Category, or the Section New Value, and click Save.

  5. Ensure the record is marked as current.
