Half per cycle is defined as half-day leave applications per year. This is used to limit the application of half-day leave within a year. To set this up, you can do as follows:
Go to the Leave module.
Click Setup, then click Allocation Table.
Select your allocation table.
Set the limit in the Half per Cycle column.
